Tomahawk 5 inch vs 6 inch tires

Hi, I have a 78 Tomahawk with 500 x 5 in tires. I am contemplating changing them to 600 x 6 tires like that did with the Tomahawk II. Has anyone done this, will I need new wheels? and will the 6 in fit in the nose wheel fork. I appears like it does when I measured, but I'd like to hear from someone who has done this already.
