My tip tanks on my PA 32 look awful. They seem to be sound with no leaks or other problems but the gel coat is all cracked and peeling.

Can these tanks be removed for repair?

Can I remove them, sand them and renew the gel coat or is it gel coat?

If any one has had the same problem let me know how you fixed it.

thanks.
