Hi All,
I've narrowed the search for my first aircraft to a Piper Saratoga. I have about 90 flight hours divided between a Cirrus SR20 and 22. My family has grown from 2 people to 5 so a used Cirrus is no longer an option for me. I like that the Saratogas offer club seating (seats face each other) so that my wife can tend to the three little ones if need be.
90% of missions will be between 280-450 nm's at 6-8 thousand feet. Once in a blue moon I do plan to travel to Colorado. I will need a bird in which the avionics can be upgraded to a G500 or Aspen. I would also like a model with the fastest cruise speed (closest to the Cirrus).
I guess my question is: What is the difference between all of the models of Saratogas. The difference between the HP's and SP's are? What is the difference between the II models and regular ones? I've already gathered that the TC models are turbo charged but what are the differences between the Saratoga T's and the TC's? I'm confused. I'm also looking up cruise speeds for these varied models and I am getting a host of different answers. I am considering a II TC not because I need to fly high but because it has the speed profile I am seeking. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
