The airport used to be McClellan AFB over 10 years ago. It has been converted to civilian use and is now McClellan Field. No tower, but the over 10,000' runway will give your Piper a little extra room. The FBO, McClellan Jet services was very helpful and their fuel prices indicate that prop planes are welcome. The Lion's Gate Hotel is almost in walking distance and will pick you at the the Jet Center. The hotel is an outstanding conversion of the BOQ's etc. from the base days. The bar and restaurant are the former officer's club. Food is great and prices are very reasonable. For visiting friends and doing business in the Sacramento area, this is a great base of operations.
