Wow...thought that was going to be easy. Do not heat the tape, makes a sticky mess...Get a few dozen plastic razor blades with a holder and scrape away, slowly. Plane is hangared and rarely sits outside and still only got 4 years out of them before they crumbled at the gap. Old ones were from AMR&D, probably the same 3M tape I replaced them with, but at least now I know what I am up against and will be ready.
