I fly an Archer that has a slight yellow colored fuel that comes from the nose sump after the airplane has been sitting for some time (usually at least a week). The airplane is hangared and there are no leaks. The wing sumps show 100ll just fine. The airplane has only been fueled with 100ll for a long time.
After about 4-5 sumps, the fuel comes out blue. The yellow “fuel” doesn’t smell exactly like 100 LL, but does have a fuel smell.
No engine issues at all. Runs just fine.
If you sump 2-3 days after cleaning out the other fuel, it comes out blue.
There’s never an indication of water or other fuel types.
What would change the color of the fuel?
