The FAA is changing "Taxi into position and hold" to "Line up and wait". They say that eliminates ambiguity? Seems to me it creates ambiguity, because you could line up and wait on the taxiway. The other stated reason is that it is more easily understood by non-English speaking pilots. I was just commenting that the new taxi instruction format seemed like a sensible change. This one seems dubious. Apparently it's already in use in Canada.
