We are playing with the idea of visiting KEGE on February. I´ve been there before but arrived on AA. Has anyone flown into this airport? I worry about the weather and high elevation of the surrounding mountains. In this case, we would not fly the aztec, but a presurized twin with ice protection.
Another option is to land near denver in Centenial airport KAPA, but then there is two hour drive into the mountains. Elevation is much lower and the approach much simpler. Cheaper fuel also!
Please let me know your comments about landing in KEGE. Thanks!
