I flew in a Cherokee 180 today that did not have a functioning ammeter. I am not sure if this is an airworthy issue or not. It's a pretty rough airplane with very old avionics and a new owner who now has one hour of instruction.

I asked him to report the ammeter to his mechanic, and with the wx forecast, we won't be flying again for a week or so... but I kind of like to be sure everything is working (engine instruments, etc.) before we go up again.
