I hate going thru messy disorganized logbooks and trying to make sense out of it.
Please HELP me if you can...
Here's the situation.
I am considering to purchase a 1970 Cherokee 180.
Today, first time I got my hands on the logbooks.
Annual just has been completed on 4/10/2020 but not entered the logbook yet.
Trying to make sense of these entries regarding past annuals :
4/2/2019 TTAF 3575.7 SMOH 88.9
2018 ANNUAL - MISSING
9/5/2017 TTAF 3575.6 SMOH 88.8
6/17/2016 TTAF 3575.2 SMOH 88.4
4/6/2015 TTAF 3572.1 SMOH 85.3
2/7/2014 TTAF 3570.5 SMOH 86.8
2013 ANNUAL - MISSING
9/4/2012 TTAF 3568.5 SMOH 84.8
7/11/2011 TTAF 3559.1 SMOH 75.4
6/2/2010 TTAF3555.6 SMOH 71.9
2/20/2009 TTAF 3514.2 SMOH 30.5
1/7/2008 TTAF 3503.0 SMOH 19.3
11/13/2006 TTAF 3495.7 SMOH 12
8/1/2005 MAJOR OVERHAUL @ TTAF3483.7 / SMOH 1530.7
(which tells me that the 1st OH since new was done@ TTAF 1953.0 BUT there was no record of it on the logbooks)
Also, at this point company performed the OH recorded that the engine was reinstalled on May 2005 and noted the TTAF 4056.5 and SMOH 0.00 ?????????????
What the heck???
How can an engine could be removed from an airplane on March 2005 at TTAF3483.7 and after OH reinstalled back in to the airplane with TTAF 4056.5 hr showing on the sticker?
Then in 2016 the next annual continues to show TTAF 3495.7 and SMOH 12...
Where the heck that 4056.5 came from. Can anybody make sense of that?
Plus, those hrs and years with no Annual is telling me that this plane hardly flown around and was a hangar queen. No wonder it looks spotless.
Just wanted to know what you guys will think if you were considering to buy a plane and see these numbers on the logbooks...???
Thanks in advance guys.
