I posted this same question in the Comanche Owner's forum. Hoping to get some feedback here too.

Hello All

My fifty plus year old carpet is dry rotted. Link to pic of my carpet:

It disintegrated in my hands as I removed it from the plane. Now I need a replacement. So to whom do I go? Can I take this carpet to a local auto interior shop and have him make me a new one? In my search so far I've come across some regulations FAA FAR 23.853. I read this article on AVWEB and my head almost exploded:

http://www.avweb.com/news/maint/182839-1.html

I need some help understanding what meets this standard.

Regards

Russ
