Gross weight changes to Apache PA-23 150?

I have an early serial number 1957 PA-23/150 that has a 3500 lb gross weight, rather than the 3800 lb gross weight.

Does anyone know of any STCs to up the gross weight, or know specifically what was done on the later serial numbers?

Any help is greatly appreciated...
