Been chasing an oil leak for about 6 weeks on my Lycoming O-360-A4A Cherokee 180. Lots of removing the upper and lower cowling, wash, runup....repeat. Well today I found my mystery leak. Seems my crankshaft bearing and/or seal has given up. Starter gear hub was full of oil after flight today. Let the field mechanics know and they'll take a look tomorrow.
They said it might be able to be glued back in or might have to be replaced.
Any ideas on what I should expect for costs?
