I just bought a '76 Lance and have a couple of small squawks that I'm trying to address. I'd like to gather the collective knowledge base that is Piper Forum.
The door holder slide assembly (Piper P/N 65727-00)...is this something that can be repaired? How? I searched the forums but found no reference.
Mine is not staying open. I'd really like to get the door steward gas strut, but this is down on the priority list, so I was wondering if there are any tricks to repair the standard Piper part. If I have to buy a new one, I'd probably spring (sorry for pun) for the gas strut solution.
