Piper PA-28R-201T, TSIO-360 camshaft corrosion pitting BEFORE shedding metal that could be trapped in the oil filter. Not on an oil analysis program, this was found purely by accident after removing a cylinder for an unrelated problem. The cylinder had been removed for an exhaust port leak caused by erosion. Instead of resurfacing the port, the mech resorted to removing the cylinder for repair at another shop.
