I never thought I'd like anything but the mini. I really dislike large tablets in the airplane because they're too bulky and there's no easy place to put them.

But the air 2 is a pretty nice compromise, I made the switch yesterday.

The weight variance is only about 3.5 ounces between the air and the mini. I don't tell much difference in the overall weight between the air 2 and my old 2nd generation mini. The old full size iPads were 1.3 pounds, whereas the air 2 is 0.9 pounds.

The anti-glare coating on the air 2 is noticeably improved over previous iPads as well. My mini was tough to read in direct sunlight. The air 2 isn't.

The air 2 is ~9.5 x ~6.5 inches

This compared to the old full size iPads which were ~9.7 x ~7.5 inches

Here's a pic of them laid on top of each other...
