Can an Archer really run on mogas?

I have heard that a large percentage of GA piston engines can actually run on mogas. What about my Archer? Mogas in California has ethenol because of the air pollution regulations; however it would be simple to not add the ethanol to produce a 100LL alternative. Any input would be appreciated.
