Hey everyone. Debating on what to buy. I know this has probably been debated plenty of times, But I am trying to decide on whether to go with a late 70's Cherokee 6/300 or early 80's NA Saratoga vs. a late 70's bonanza A36.

Mission: The trip i will be flying is from south central FL to South GA. Roughly 280nm. I own a Cessna 182 with o-520 cont. and at about 135kts this takes me right at 2hrs. Most of the time I will be carrying 3-4 adults(around 550-750lbs) with light bags (less than 50lbs) but 3-4 times per year I may have the need to carry 4 full size adults plus two smaller adults. (950lbs plus around 50lbs bags) This is where i run into the dilemma, which im sure most do. With my max people weight + bags + the (50galx6lb) of fuel I need im right at 1300-1350 lbs.

I have seen a few Bonanza's with tip tanks with a 1350 useful, although im worried about getting out of aft CG. Plus there isn't much room for bags. This is offset some when you have 4 people and can cruise about 30 knots faster.

Does anyone have any personal experience/advice they can share with me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys
