The MAC1700 was a modification to the KX-170B radios. It involved removing the the front end of the radio that contained all the mechanical switches and replacing it with an electronic module. All the 40 and 50 year old electrolytic capacitors, dirty potentiometers, etc. are still there. Take your chances.
