I'd like to remove the cracked plastic door trim panel on our 1974 archer for replacement. I have never attempted removing it before. Can someone here who has some experience doing this let me know if this involves fiddling with or disconnecting any of the door or latch mechanisms?

It appears that the top latch handle needs to be unscrewed along with the metal latch cover for the same. But I'm not sure if this effects the operation of the latch mechanism or not.

I'd be grateful to hear from someone who has done this before and any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Hish
