Hey guys this might have been coved but I haven't found that thread. I am a student pilot who owns a 78 Archer II so not only am I learning to fly, I'm also learning how to be an owner. Yesterday I replaced my battery with a Concorde 35AXC and started the engine. I realized that the Alt Amp meter needle was dropping after I started the engine. Right after starting the needle was about 25-30 amps. Then it slowly dropped to about 20 amps. When I turned all the electronics on the meter went up to abut 30-35 amps. I called my Machanic who said this is normal and my CFI felt it was safe to fly so I went up for about 3 hours without any problems. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this. Today, my Machanic said I need a new volt regulator. Does this sound normal?
