Why I like the early Cherokee 180C

I'd flown a bunch of Warriors and Archers while instructing for the GI bill in the mid 1970's. But my 67' 180C is the first Cherokee I've owned.

Two main reasons I like it.

1. It is small. Length and wing span SMALL. That is good here at my home hangar. My (and my son's) toys barely fit in. A 1959 Glasspar G3[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyTOdW9X1ZI"][/ame], three cars, a trailer, motorcycle, golf cart......and a Cherokee 180. An Archer wouldn't fit.

2. Almost 1000# useful load. It faithfully carries 4 adults and fuel to the tabs. Sure, it isn't an old Skywagon, but it does the job. I like it. Yes, it is tight in the back, but people are too scared to complain.

3. Greatest crosswind airplane ever made. Short wings, short coupled, steady, stout landing gear. None better!

Does the job/$$$$ ratio is exceptional. Same with the 55 year old 13 1/2 ft Glasspar ski boat on Priest Rapids Reservoir.
