A few days ago at the local club got chatting with a fellow who did a perfect off airport landing of his Cessna 205 after the engine blew. His insurance company retrieved the plane from the highway and brought it back to his home airport. He now has to find another engine for his old plane which is probably going to cost almost as much as the plane is worth. He said he'd have been better off to have bent it and got paid out. Not sure if such calculations would go through one's mind while dead sticking it.
