Turbo Aztec (Lyc TIO-540-C1A) has a stuck valve. (NOW I know what Lycoming "morning sickness" is.):(

Into the shop (they do mostly Continental work - very little Lycoming) to clean (ream) the guides. Surprise, the valve spring compressor that works with "all Continental and Lycoming engines" - doesn't. From the Lyc overhaul manual we learn that the ST-25 tool is what we need ~ at only a thousand bucks! Yikes.

(1) Any suggests for a tool and / or technique for removing the valve keys. Or, for that matter, reinstalling them?

(2) The push rod is removed just for convenience. When it is reinstalled is it necessary to first bleed the tappet plunger or can the pushrod simply be reinserted?

Thanks.
