The cable on my pilot seat's adjustment/lock cable snapped. I've tried looking around to find a replacement without much luck. The few sites, one in Brazil, that even mentions the part number, wants $250+. It looks like a standard braided steel cable wrapped in a "cable hose". I need to measure the inner cable, but wonder if something along the lines of (Stainless Steel Cable 1/16 Uncoated | Aircraft Spruce) might do the trick for repair. Has anyone tried something along these lines?
