I have been flying a 1981 Saratoga TC since 2004. Due to updraft cooling design, I have never been able to run close to POH figures with respect to fuel flow. I usually run about 21.5 to 22.0 gph at altitudes 5k to 11k. I have gami injectors and run lean of peak if I have a good tailwind. Other wise, I run rich of peak and keep the hottest cylinder(#3) below 399 according to the JPI. Just recently, it has been taking about 23.5 to 24.0 gph to maintain same operating temperatures, with no explanation or changes. Maintenance has combed the cowling for baffleing leaks and thoroughly cleaned injectors. This did not remedy the problem and my mechanic is scratching his head. Any thoughts?
