Radio or Mike button problem

Hi guys,

I finally tested things out.

left seat: when I sit in the left seat and press the mike button, my right seater can't hear me, but when the button is not pressed all conversation is fine.

the right seat: when I press the right button and talk I can't hear myself.

Basically when the button is pressed the right seat can only hear tower.

Any ideas? i have the cheapy TKM radios but dont know if its the buttons or the radios.
