Spent some "quality time" under my 76 Archer's panel today...can anyone tell me what this part is with the grey plastic cover?

It's located under the panel, on the pilot side, attached at the very top against the insulation. Sort of behind the pilots upper left panel area (i.e. where the clock is). Didn't jump out to me when looking through the Parts Catalog.

Other than my pulsing ammeter and Alt light (which got me looking under the panel)...everything electrical seems to work.

The wire shown was not attached and the two others were wrapped in electrical tape. Thought I better sort this out as I'm not too keen on unknown, disconnected wires!

Thanks for the recce.
