Once upon a time the right engine (TIO-540-C1A) jugs were (all) reworked. Subsequently a number of the rocker box drains leak at the 45* fitting at the cylinder.

#2 was remedied by removing the fitting, applying sealant and re-installing. Numbers 3, 4, and 6 cannot be removed (without pulling cylinders) so they continue to leak. We've tried loosening them as far as possible (to the point that interference between the fitting and the fins of the neighboring cylinder prevents further loosening), applying sealant, and re-tightening. They still leak.

The problem seems to be that sealant can't get far enough into the cylinder threads to be effective. We tried a black permatex product and a white (sorry, can't recall the name) 'high temp' thread sealer. Neither worked.

Has anyone else encountered this? More importantly, does anyone know of a fix short of removing cylinders?

Thanks
