For those of you that have Aztecs are you flying them lean of peak?
If so I was hoping you could shed some insights on how you do this, your general technique for transitioning into lean of peak operations and how you transition back out to rich of peak operations.
Also what indicated altitudes you fly at, target egt/cht temps and expected fuel flows
I understand the general idea I just don't understand how much more to lean after the last cylinder peaks.
My plan was to set up at either 4500ft or 5500ft, with 65% power set up from the book, I have a jpi 760 engine monitor, hit the lean find button and flip it to lean of peak. Then try to lean another 50 degrees lean of peak.
I have not tried this yet
Also I have seen some people say they increase the throttle after transitioning to lean of peak, why is this done, how much do you increase the mp?
If all the fuel has been burned I don't understand why one would open the throttle..
Hope someone on here can clarify for me
Thanks in advance
