In 1966, Laughlin was an eight unit motel and a small casino. You fly into Bullhead City, AZ, just across the river. Some hotels offer free shuttle to their hotel/casinos. There are at least 6-8 large high rise hotels with giant casinos. We stayed at the Aquarius (formerly the Flamingo Hilton) in a large king bed room for $45.00 per night. Very nice hotel; a recent renovation where everything looks new. Must have cost a bunch. Restaurants and buffets are reasonable. Service and quality were very good. Fun trip from LA or San Diego. Less than 2 hours in the Piper Archer across the most nothing you can imagine.
