I only fly these days with my iPad and would never fly without it. This past weekend I flew for the first time where out of nowhere my iPad shut down due to overheating. Worried me a bit because although I was flying VFR, I fly IFR pretty frequently and thought it would have really sucked if all my approach plates where not available. I always carry my iphone with outdated plates if necessary, but my phone is old and slow so I hate to rely on them. Anybody experience something similar with their iPads? I'm trying at all costs to avoid carrying binders of multiple states' approach plates. I'm curious if the iPad 2 is better with heating issues?
