During the last upgrade, my installer put a low profile turn-n-bank indicator on the left most side of the panel. He told me that they had to find a low-profile instrument because of the limited space that the panel has behind that area.
I should have gotten the measurements because then, because i want to replace that turn-n-bank, and wondering how much space i have.
So hoping that’s others on this forum know what the structure looks like behind that area and can give me an idea of the depth that is available behind that instrument.
The airplane is a 1976 Piper Archer II. (pa28-181).
The instrument i would like to put in its place is a RC Allen mini-6 .. or a RC Allen 2610 .. i’m pretty sure the 2610 fits .. it needs about 1.6“ behind plus room for electrical wires. really curious if the mini-6 fits, since it also needs pitot static connections, wondering if there is enough room to make those connections.
Attached a photo so you can see what spot i’m talking about.
