This rim was installed new in 1976. It is the inner rim. It appears it has been broken/cracked for some time.
It broke away from my home airport - wasnt far but still a huge nusiance. The pics are attached so that you might consider inspecting your rims very carefully. As we all know the rims get pretty dark and dirty from brake dust. In the future I will be cleaning them so that any crack can be seen.
I am replacing all of the rims, tires, tubes and bearings. My mains had about 800 hours on them.

For some reason my camera date is wrong it was taken this month.
