Well, never say never. After 100 plus instrument approaches it happened today. I fly a Seneca II and have about 300 hrs in it. I have 950 hrs over all. I file everywhere I go, and I go a lot . Today was my first time for going miss on an approach. We had Whskey weather ( 4700 broken)turning about 7-9 mile final for the ILS 23. We were in the soup and Bristol, Tn has short mountains ALL around it on final. You don't want to be low OR off left, right. About 5 mile final we hit a moderate rain cell about the time we expect to break out. Tower calls climb to 4500 and fly heading 230. Ceiling and visibility had dropped to about 0. There was a question about there ILS accuracy so they vectored us around for the GPS 23 and we broke out RIGHT at minimums. So, always plan for the unexpected( including going missed )!
