At my annual we discovered a crack in the exhaust pipe that I had no idea was there. The crack is clear thru the pipe. My A&P said he hadn't seen that before. The entire exhaust was replaced (Acorn) about 6 years ago and it replaced the factory original exhaust that was 40 years old. So, there was approx. 325 hours on the pipe. The old one had some scars and welds as well but not a complete sever like this crack. I am wondering if there might have been something wrong, a pipe weakness, improper torquing, etc. Or perhaps this is "normal"?
