Well I'm getting some flack from my mother about a trip I want to do in April. I have always wanted to fly myself to FL. And I see no better opportunity than now the way fuel prices are at the moment.

My plane is a cherokee 180, I know it's not the fastest plane for the trip but I believe it's more than capable of completing the task. The airplane is equipped with a ifr gps, a handheld with xm weather on it and a engine monitor that tells me everything. Only thing I'm missing is an auto pilot.

She's telling me it's too far to go in a small plane and something could happen.

Just wanted another opinion.
