I've just broken the damned thing (door strut, PA28-181) for the 3rd time despite a fairly high degree of caution given past experience.
The wind shifted, caught the door and refreshed the nice gouge on my cowl from the door impact.

Anybody got any clever fixes for this apart from latching the door every time you go in or out?

Steve
