My fancy-schmantzy new panel has one odd flaw: The oil pressure card in one of the engine gauge clusters is wonky. The shop said they did what they could, but they couldn't get it any better because one of the vertical braces that go between the individual gauges (or blanks) for the cluster was missing. (Specifically, I think it's because the oil line coming into the back of the gauge has some memory and the shop doesn't want to go yanking around on that pipe, but the missing vertical brace might be able to counter the twisting force of the oil line.)
Here's an illustration, but it's enlarged from a full-panel shot and so may not be real clear in the photo. Anyone who looks at a cluster gauge in their own plane will quickly see what I'm talking about, though.
I might give Wentworth a call...I'm sure they won't sell that one little piece, but they might sell me a damaged gauge cluster where I could salvage that bit.
Before I do that, does anyone here have such a gauge cluster they'd be willing to part with? Any other bright ideas for how to straighten up that gauge?
