Question: does anybody have experience with re-chroming the piper gear legs? My gear has some chrome flaking off approx. 3" on bottom of tubes, no real problem with leakage or seals on gear, just looks bad. Maybe on a hard landing when the gear compresses more than normal the wiper ring might hit the "rough part", but normal gear compression is not a problem. My mechanic says ignore, but what about the future if more chrome flakes off. I do keep the exposed oiled down. thanks
