An aircraft I am looking at purchasing has really bad paint. Some areas the paint has faded completely away and bare aluminum is showing. No corrosion is present but I dont want or need it to start before I can get it painted which may take a year or two. Is there anything that can be applied over the bad paint and exposed aluminum that will protect it long enough till it can get into the paint shop? Maybe a good washing, mild cleaner and a scotchbrite then a good coating of wax? Give me the procedures to protect the airframe please (besides paint which is coming in time)
