My Aztec (E model, normally aspirated) with 800 Hours since overhaul on both has always run with hot oil temps (a needle width from red line), normal CHTs and normal pressure. I mitigate this, especially during high external temperatures using fuel, higher cruise climb speeds and of course the cowl flaps almost continuously in cruise. I am planning to repaint the Aztec and was wondering if anyone had some idea for ods or for increasing airflow through the oil cooler, perhaps the cowl vents that are standard on the turbocharged version. Any one else experiencing similar conditions?
