At annual, 1 low cyl at 40. Suggestions?

I'm in for my annual and one cylinder came up at 40. Others are in 70s. A lot of stuff I'm reading lately (Busch, et al) suggest not to be so quick with pulling the cylinder. They want to send it out for inspection and repair. Engine has about 1600 hrs. Previous oil analysis came up spot clean. Another oil analysis just was sent out. I've heard one procedure is to button it up, go for a high speed taxi and then retest. The mechanic flew the plane back to my field and actually remarked at how good performing the plane was on our short trip so I'm not in any rush to disassemble. At 40psi I also don't think it is unsafe to fly either. Is there some procedure like spilling some Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinder then go fly it? Since they are inclined to send it out I am not sure they are well equipped to do serious engine work. I have no problem with that preferring that over trying to do it themselves if they feel it would be better done elsewhere.
