ARROW IV - Door Seal

Hi Everyone
Am currently restoring a Cherokee Arrow IV (1980) and have finally got round to doing the entry door. We purchased a new rubber seal (knots2U) and fitted okay. The door now is extremely tight - to the point of it not fitting flush. There are 3 other IV's in our hangar and the aluminium strip on the fuselage side of things are the same?

Any help / comments / tips - much appreciated?
