For any Pacific northwest flyers, I'm moving to Central Oregon (Bend) shortly, and I'm a little nervous as to whether my trusty PA28-181 will still cut it up there in the mountains, between the higher DA's in the summer, and icing issues in the winter. Missions will be mostly flights around Oregon, occasional flights to Seattle to see family, and 3-4 trips to California per year, with 2 adults and 2 kids. My preference is to keep my plane rather than start over again, but I'd love to hear if others have found 180hp plenty or if you've ended up having to switch to something else to keep from too many scrubbed flights.
