PA28-236, 1979, electrical system shut down. Pulled the battery and recharged it. It tested at 12.76 volts. Pulled the cigarette lighter and the system activated. Upon startup the battery charge indicated 14.3 volts. The ammeter pegged all the way! I turned off the alternator and the battery charge indicated 13.6 and dropping slowly. Wires all tested okay. Power to the buss.
Voltage regulator bad?
