Hi all, I installed an AK 451 ELT three years ago. I tried to do a selftest recently, only nothing happened. Two of the four D-size cells were dead. I replaced all the cells, their voltages are good, and then did the selftest again.

It failed again.

This time the fault code, (light), is flashing continiously.

I am not close to a test/repair facility. Also other forums indicate a rather poor inservice record of the AK 451?

The batteries are the correct ones (Ultralife 3.3v).

Any suggestions please?
