Anyone looking to do some winter flying? C'mon up to Ottawa. We've been like this for a couple of weeks now. The cold temps mean mostly CAVU—if you can survive the pre-flight—and your 160 HP Cherokee will climb like a fighter jet. :)

My plane is done its annual, but the shop hasn't been able to pull it in yet to melt off the ice and snow (it got parked outside over Christmas without wing covers), and to be honest, I don't really want to go out and struggle with wing covers in a -39c windchill anyway when I put it back in its outside spot. I also have to shovel the spot first.

Hoping to get back in the air for 2018 as soon as it "warms up" to above -15c out (I used to fly down to -30c excluding windchill, but I was younger and more obsessive then). I plan to do a thorough preflight in the heated maintenance hanger before hauling it outside for the post-maintenance test flight.

Cheers, David
