Going through the POHs of these two airplanes it looks like the differences are mainly in the electrical system.

However......

Same engine; O-360-A4A
Same wing; 160 sqft
Same weight; 2400#

Service ceiling for the "C" is 16,400' and the "E" is only 13,000'

Absolute ceiling for the "C" is 19,000' and for the "E" only 15,000'

I wonder why the difference?
