I purchased a GDL 82 standard kit which comes with the GA35 antenna for use with the GPS/SBAS installation. My installation will use GPS source info from GNS430W. I currently have the short monopole transponder antenna. Here's the a part of the table of acceptable L-band antennas from the installation manual:

[1] Not recommended for new installations.

As the footnote [1] says, some are not recommended for new installation... not exactly sure what that is referencing but am planning to check w/Garmin for explanation.

So, at present I'm looking for one of the antennae on the list without the footnote to trade for my GA35 antenna. Also would like to hear from anyone using one of the footnoted antennae successfully as Aircraft Spruce and others seem to have those readily available...

Thanks in advance,

Joe B
